What exactly is
Second Hour?
Second Hour
is an opportunity for all parishioners, wherever we are on our faith
journey, to grow and learn more about our faith on a regular and
consistent basis, keeping God our top priority.
Second Hour is a
weekly program designed to help all of us to weekly increase our
hunger for a more engaged and vigorous faith life. We will succeed
in this effort only if we establish a loving and working bond
between the household and the parish.
Second Hour has
several components: Nursery – Early Childhood, 1st - 6th
grade, Junior High – High School, and Adult (young adult – senior
citizen). There is literally something for EVERYONE!
Second Hour also includes a monthly “Second Hour – Special Event” component where
families will come together for 90 minutes to learn and grow
together. Generally, there will be no break-outs or Home Kits,
although there will be occasional magazines and handouts to
supplement our lessons.
Second Hour (the title) comes from the idea that our “First Hour” is when we come to
Mass each weekend to pray and praise God and our “Second Hour”
is an opportunity to educate and form ourselves in our Catholic
faith.
Second Hour is an opportunity to allow the Holy Spirit to work in our hearts and
invigorate our faith lives.
